At about 0:30 a.m. the next day, Liu Chunlu came to the lobby of the first floor of the KTV and pulled out the fuel pipes of the self-used motorcycles parked there, causing a large amount of gasoline to flow to the ground. Huang and He of the same trade met with obstruction, but Liu Chunlu ignored the obstruction and rushed into the hall of the first floor of KTV, lighting the ground with a lighter. Gasoline burned violently, and the fire spread quickly to the entire hall of KTV, igniting wooden doors, motorcycles and other items in the hall and doorway. Liu Chunlu fled the scene after setting fire.  

Eighteen people on the second and third floors of the KTV died of carbon monoxide poisoning after they had no time to run out and inhale hot smoke. Four others were rescued by firefighters. At 10 o'clock in April 24, 2018, Liu Chunlu was arrested by the public security authorities.  

After judicial authentication, Liu Chunlu has full criminal responsibility when committing a crime.
