Ericsson wins T-Mobile US $3 billion 500 million 5G supply order

Sina Technology News Beijing time on September 11 evening news, Ericsson announced today that it has signed a multi-year supply agreement with the U. S. mobile operator T-Mobile US worth $3.5 billion. This is the biggest 5G order that Ericsson has won so far.

T-Mobile US, the third-largest U.S. mobile operator, announced in February that it would work with Ericsson and Nokia to deploy 5G networks in 30 U.S. cities.

At the end of July, T-Mobile US took the lead in reaching a $3.5 billion 5G equipment supply agreement with Nokia, the largest 5G deal in the world at the time. Under the agreement, NOKIA will provide T-Mobile US with $3 billion 500 million 5G network equipment.

Ericsson just announced last month that it will increase 5G investment in the U.S. market and expand its business in the U.S. market to meet the demand of mobile service operators for rapid deployment of 5G networks. As part of the plan, Ericsson will recruit about 380 employees in the United States, set up a new research and development center, and will manufacture products in the United States in the fourth quarter of this year.
