Mastercard and Microsoft push new payment platform to simplify cross-border payment

Sina Technology News Beijing time on September 14 evening news, MasterCard (MasterCard) announced today, has joined Microsoft to launch a new payment platform "Mastercard Track".

According to the two companies, Mastercard Track is a global trading and payment platform designed to automate transactions between businesses worldwide and to improve transaction efficiency by simplifying the trading process.

George Zinn, Microsoft's vice president and financial director, said the launch of the Mastercard Track platform would ease some of the challenges faced by business customers in 192 countries around the world in conducting transactions.

Mastercard Track comes at a time when Mastercard is facing a strong challenge from Visa, another credit card giant. Last year, Visa first launched a block chain payment service called "B2B Connect" (connecting B2B).

Similar to Mastercard Track, Visa's "B2B Connect" aims to simplify cross-border payments, enabling direct payments between businesses, thereby eliminating traditional intermediaries.

Michael Froman, Mastercard's president of strategic growth, said Mastercard Track was expected to attract governments, ports and trade promotion agencies around the world. (Li Ming)
