The People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region recently promulgated "Some Measures for Supporting the Development of New Energy Vehicles", giving appropriate incentives to new energy vehicle manufacturers and subsidizing consumers for purchasing new energy vehicle products by 20% of the national standards.

The above measures put forward the emphasis on supporting SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. and other enterprises to develop and produce pure electric cars with wheelbase over 2.8 meters and length over 4.8 meters, as well as pure electric sport passenger vehicle (SUV) and multi-function passenger vehicle (MPV) models based on this platform. By adjusting the expenditure structure of the departments and making overall budgetary arrangements, the finance of the autonomous region will give appropriate incentives to the new energy automobile enterprises that produce new models. If a new type of vehicle developed by Guangxi new energy automobile production enterprise enters the Catalogue of Recommended Vehicles for Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles, each type of vehicle shall be given a one-off reward of 500,000 yuan by the finance of the autonomous region.

According to the above measures, in the period from 2018 to 2020, if consumers purchase new energy automobile products, the autonomous region's finance at the corresponding level will subsidize them by 40% of the national standards, that is, 20% of the national standards; the subsidies will be in the form of subsidies to the new energy automobile manufacturers and the new energy automobile manufacturers will be new at the price after deducting the subsidies.
