At the same time, facing the idea of unified platform for edge computing and the initiative of establishing OTE cooperation alliance, Baidu took the lead in layout and construction of Over The Edge (OTE), accelerating the 5G landing process.

Oriented towards the unified management of edge node resources, intelligent scheduling and 5G edge feature information fusion, Baidu's ongoing OTE deepens Baidu's leading technical capabilities through function computing, AI reasoning, edge transcoding, location services, cache acceleration and large data processing, thereby enhancing its unmanned vehicle, AR/VR, video surveillance, and interaction. Live broadcast, intelligent robot and other extensive layout. Through VM/Docker/API/SDK and OTE Stack (Baidu Unified Access Platform for Edge Resources), resource pooling, intelligent scheduling, virtualization and container processing are realized in cloud edge cluster, MEC edge cluster, enterprise service cluster and IoT intelligent terminal cluster. Fully empowered in cloud edge nodes, pervasive servers, intelligent terminals and MEC nodes, the 5G technology architecture is constructed through a complete framework.

At the same time, OTE will shield the underlying heterogeneous features, reduce the Internet application access edge resource threshold, provide edge solutions in different scenarios, and output standard multi-level acceleration capability. At present, OTE platform is carrying out PoC test and verification for Internet of Things, online translation, video edge processing, and will eventually benefit every business with low latency and high reliability of edge computing.

This cooperation, Baidu and Intel will promote OTE platform research and development, to achieve the cloud edge infrastructure, distributed computing resources, mobile network edge and intelligent terminals, such as Internet edge computing unified management, and accelerate the launch of related commercial products.
